Courvoisier Mizunara Cognac 2023 Edition 2012Courvoisier Mizunara Cognac 2023 Edition Celebrated Cognac house Courvoisier has teamed up with Suntorys chief blender Shinji Fukuyo to create this delicate, really rather unusual Cognac. Its own chief blender Thibaut Hontanx looked to Japanese Mizunara oak to age a blend of Grand Champagne, Petite Champagne and Borderies eaux de vie. The bottle design depicts a Mizunara tree winding its way around the glass. Just 500 bottles were released. Palate:

it’s spent most of its life in a refill hogshead

with crushed peanuts and runny honey

there are fudge

this is going to be a riot of flavour that will provide hours of joy for the serious rum taster

Palate:  Raisins

the creamy notes are growing nicely

warm oven baked sponge and tropical fruits coming back into play for the finish

hints of spiced fruit cake lead to a warming spice on the finish

A flavour-forward phenomenon

roasted peanuts and white chocolate truffle

and rich mouthfeel here

toffee and hints of coca and rich honey
